M.G. Radhakrishnan – Famous Music Composer
Sri.M.G.Radhakrishnan was born on 29th July 1940, at haripad, in Alappuzha District,Kerala,as the eldest son of the well known harmonist and sangeethavidwan Sri.Malabar Gopalan Nair and Smt.Kamalakshi Amma, herself a music teacher and harikatha performer. Sri. M.G.Radhakrishnan joined the Swathi Thirunal Music Acadey, Trivandrum and obtained Ganabhusahnam.
In his official capacity, Mr.Radhakrishnan worked as a staff and become the senior music composer(grade 1) in Akashavani, Trivandrum. In 1962,he joined All India Radio. He has rendered karnatic music concerts both inside and outside India several times.His entrance to the film field was as a playback singer. He has a number of popular songs to his credit such as "uthishta jagrada.." in Sarasayya, "unni ganapathiye.." in Kallichellamma, "Vaikathappanum Shivarathri.." in Mazhakkaru, "Mallaksheemanimaril.." in Kumarasambhavam etc. Later in 1978, he become a composer for film music and established his talents there.
