M G Sreekumar needs no introduction. Malayalam music buffs have enjoyed his singing for well over a decade now and his popularity as a playback singer has only soared over the years. Though hailing from a family of eminent musicians (he's the younger brother of noted music-director, vocalist M G Radhakrishnan and eminent musician Prof. Omanakutty), Sreekumar's entry into the realm of film music was a sheer accident. But once there, his hard work and dedication coupled with his versatile voice saw him going places. Awards and recognition followed, though for Sreekumar the icing on the cake is the two National Awards he's received in a gap of just 10 years. The latest being for Chaandu pottum from the film Vaasanthiyum, Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum .
