Karthiyani Amma Promises Ministers That She Will Come Again To Delhi
Karthiyani Amma, a proud personality of Harippad proves that age is just a number. This 96 year old women sets a record by scoring 98 marks out of 100 in ‘Aksharalaksham’ test, a fourth standard equivalent exam conducted by Kerala government. Two years ago, she has received special congratulatory award from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Now she was invited to Delhi to attend women’s day function conducted by Public Relations authority. There she was awarded ‘Naarishakthi’ award from Indian government. She shares her life story and advices that “don’t waste your time in television, mobile and computers unless try to earn knowledge”. She also added that “not to worry about your age, you all can study at any age”. Chief guest of the function, Annie Raja, General Secretary of National Federation of Indian Women speaks about her confidence and wishes her to study more. When ministers asked her to stay in Delhi for a day, she replied that she will come again to Delhi at the age of hundred to receive award for 10th equivalent exam!
