Thrikunnapuzha Backwaters



The Backwaters and the surrounding Vegetation form a cool and rejuvenating atmosphere. The Cocunut trees on the banks of Thrikunnapuzha backwaters provide the view of ancient kerala. Thrikkunnapuzha is one of the gateway to the inland water ways of Alapuzha, travel through small canals, villages to enjoy the scenic beauty and to get a glimpse of the rural life of Kerala. In Thrikkunnapuzha, renowned as Sreemoolavasam, an ancient port city and a busy port is believed to have been flourishing there in the ancient days. Some ancient manuscript suggests that this port city situated 5–6 km away from the present Sastha Temple which is now gradually destroyed by the sea.
